Frederick A. Berger
M.D., FAAP
Dr. Berger founded the practice in July 1975 following a three- year pediatric residency at the University of Florida. His undergraduate degree, in chemistry, is from Duke University, and his medical degree is from St. Louis University School of Medicine. His wife teaches College prepratory courses in Franklin; their three daughters, Jennifer, Amy and Stephanie, are graduates of Franklin High School and are pursuing their careers in law, education and medicine respectively. Dr. Berger enjoys swimming, biking, and working out as well as playing music (dulcimer and acoustic guitar) and performing with the Overlook Players. The practice logo reflects his commitment to health and fitness.

S. Douglas Egge
M.D., FAAP
Dr. Egge joined the practice in 2002. Following a five year tour of duty with the military, he graduated from George Mason University in Virginia with a degree in biology and theater. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota (his home state) and completed his three year pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Egge's hobbies include juggling, acting, and playing with his children, Juliana and Steven Jr. His special interests in medicine include newborn care and dermatology. He and his wife, Dr. Shana Egge, love the idea of raising their family in Franklin.

Shana F. Egge
M.D., FAAP
Dr. Shana grew up in Delaware. She graduated from Messiah College in Pennsylvania with a degree in biology. She earned her medical degree from MCP/Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then completed her pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Shana enjoys reading, baking and being a mother. She works part-time to be able to spend more time with Juliana and Steven Jr. She is excited to be here in Franklin, and to raise her family around the friendly people in this part of North Carolina. Her special interests in medicine include newborn care and adolescent medicine.

Kevin J. Foley
M.D., FAAP
New to the practice in 2010, Dr. Foley comes to us from Melbourne, Florida, where he has practiced pediatrics for over 14 years. His under- graduate degree was obtained from the University of Florida with a major in microbiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida and went on to complete a three year residency program at All Children's Hospital in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Foley looks forward to football season and spending time with his young twins, Taylor and Tyler. He and his wife are very happy to be in Franklin, North Carolina and are excited to be part of our community.
